About This Course
When we first learn to meditate, we usher in a period of integration to our lives. We increase the connectivity of our nervous system and integrate the different versions of our story, our body and our mind to become a more rounded and aware person. Importantly, through mindfulness, this integration creates a mind that is less defensive and more ready to accept new ideas and directions. We create a pliable mind.
With this newfound pliability of mind, the job of a spiritual practitioner is to then direct the mind toward the wholesome and beneficial for the good of themselves, their families and their communities. The Metta Bhavana is the practice that, throughout Buddhism, is associated with this redirection of mind toward love and kindness to all living beings.
Through the practice of kindness and compassion in the world we promote our own spiritual progression.
